Thermomagnetic circuit breaker
Thermomagnetic circuit breaker
Schneider Electric's PowerPact circuit breakers are a family of molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) designed to protect electrical distribution systems in commercial and industrial applications against overloads and short circuits.
This range covers a wide spectrum of needs, with capacities ranging from 15 to 3000 Amps.
Frames and Capacities
The PowerPact family is divided into "frames" that determine the current range and physical size of the device:
B, H, J, Q Frames: Cover low to medium power applications, typically up to 250A (J Frame) or 150A (H Frame).
L Frame: Designed for high-capacity systems, handling up to 600A.
M, P, R Frames: Used for the most demanding industrial applications, with capacities up to 3000A.
This product line is essential for high-demand electrical distribution, such as in data centers, hospitals, and heavy industrial facilities, covering current ranges from 800 A to 6300 A.
The MasterPact family is divided into three main series based on their capabilities and technology:
MasterPact MTZ: The latest and "connected" generation. It incorporates a Micrologic X control unit that allows remote monitoring via a mobile application and customization through digital modules.
MasterPact NW: Known for its robustness in highly corrosive environments and large-scale applications (up to 6300 A).
MasterPact NT: The smallest power circuit breaker on the market, designed to save space in switchboards, with capacities from 630 A to 1600 A
These acronyms refer to series or families of molded-case circuit breakers from the Square D brand (now part of Schneider Electric). Each letter indicates the frame size and its current capacity:
FAL: Small-frame breakers, typically with capacities up to 100 Amperes.
KAL: Medium-frame breakers, generally up to 250 Amperes.
LAL: Large-frame breakers, designed for currents up to 400 Amperes.
MAL: High-capacity frames, commonly used for industrial applications up to 1200 Amperes.
